But now there's hope for them! Please support their recovery. They need you. They love you. You are the hope!

Dog Shot in Leg by Neighbor!

New Mamma

A young, nine-month-old puppy named Star was brutally shot by a neighbor in a residential area in the vicinity of children. The bullet tore through Star's leg, damaging bone and muscle. Star with Friend Star had gone up to the shooter where, according the owner, rolled onto her back in a submissive gesture where upon the neighbor opened fire. The dog was rushed to the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville by her family for life-saving emergency surgery.

The family contacted The Haven for help. We were able to provide assistance very quickly and the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville did an excellent job. The bullet was removed from poor Star, drain tubes were put in, and she is now at home with her loving family. The Haven is helping to raise money to pay for the medical treatment that saved her life.

Star Recovering
As her family writes: "She is a sweet dog, runs and plays with the children in the neighborhood and cuddles with you because she senses that you need her in that kind of way. We love Star very much and really need help with her care."

Rotty Hit by Car

New Mamma

This young rotty puppy named Trinity was hit by a car and left to die. She was rescued by The Haven and put into a cast. Sadly, after a month with no measurable healing, the leg had to be amputated. Now she is now being fostered by one of our wonderful Haven Foster Families.

We are raising funds to help to cover vet bills and save the next little pet in need!

     THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Little Beagle with a Broken Pelvis

New Mamma

Boo Boo is a young, 8-month-old beagle with a fractured pelvis and a broken back leg. Poor little guy had this injury for a while before finding his way to The Haven. It will be a difficult surgery and sadly, because he was neglected for so long before arriving at The Haven, his back leg will have to be amputated.

Help is needed to speed this brave fellow onto a

Here is Boo Boo resting comfortably in his foster home after the surgery. With him is Oddie, another special needs dog who has just recently been adopted…YAY!

Some of Our Success Stories!

Shot and left for dead, Emmy Lou was found several towns over by people who knew The Haven and brought her here. Sadly, her spine could not be repaired from the gun shot wounds, but donations and support from the Guardian Angels allowed for the purchase of a special wheelchair which gives her full mobility and a happy life! She now lives full-time at The Haven and enjoys greeting people when they arrive.

Buddy was held hostage by a gang who repeatedly struck him with a machete. Prior to that, he was subjected to months of abuse and neglect by his owner to the point of advanced starvation and mange. Hard work and donations led to his recovery, though the damage meant the loss of his leg. Despite this loss, Buddy remains a true testament to living a happy life despite all that a creature can endure.
