DOG OF WAR – Surrendered due to deployment or military move - (March 19, 2011) Little Tucker, a 2-year-old dog, has deformity in back leg. But this has not curbed his enthusiasm for life! Though not the best running candidate, he still has high energy. He was also crate-trained by his previous owner and lived with kids!

(March 19, 2011) Bess, found abandoned in the middle of the night at our shelter, was pregnant with eight puppies who have all now been adopted. Now It’s Her Turn for a Loving Home!! She is a smaller dog with the short legs of a basset and only weighs about 30 lbs. She can be seen here after a nice roll in the straw!

5-Week Old Puppies Dumped at PetSmart – FOSTERERS NEEDED!
(January 17, 2011) This week, we had 6 puppies about 4-5 weeks old dumped at Petsmart. They need our help with fostering and donations for shots and medical care ASAP. THANKS!
(January 17, 2011) A very cute rat terrier/daschund, about 1 year old, was also dumped at PetSmart over the weekend.
DOG OF WAR (January 17, 2011) Sadly, this wonderful dog was returned after a short time when the military family could no longer keep it. It’s always sad for the pet when life prevents a permanent union with a new family. Please give our friend here a look…a good home is needed!
SURRENDERED BOXERS FROM A HARD LIFE
(January 9, 2011) Two beautiful pure-bred boxers were surrendered at The Haven over the weekend. One is only 8 months old and the other, a female, has suffered severe neglect and starvation (POOR GIRL!) We are looking for donations to help pay for their vaccines. We would also LOVE a fosterer who can help care for the emaciated female boxer until she can regain her strength.

URGENT CARE NEEDED
EYE SURGERY (December 21, 2010) This young peke-mix puppy came into our shelter and our hearts in need of emergency surgery to remove a badly infected eye. We are trying to raise $300 for this young pup's care and are looking for a caring person to give three weeks of foster care. Thank You!

SWEET DOG ON HARD TIMES! (December 21, 2010) Bella, a boxer mix, was adopted 1 month ago, only to be turned in by her adoptive owner into Cumberland County Animal Control as a stray. We had to go there to pick her up to her from prevent being killed. Thank you Cumberland County for notifying us that she was abandoned by her owner so we could save her. She is a great, sweet dog.

MEET SALT 'N' PEPPER! (December 7, 2010) These two brothers, about 2 years old, cry when they are separated. They have good dispositions now groomed! "Salt" (white dog) and Pepper (black dog) are very attached and really want to be adopted together!
(December 7, 2010) Spot, who came to us when his elderly owner died of cancer, is a large sized 8 year old male rat terrier. I'm sure he misses his "daddy" very much and would love to find a home for the holidays!

friend Caleb, a 6 year old pointer/dalmatian mix, both have been here a long time and seem many of their roommates adopted. They are ready for that special family to take them home or to be their sponsor through the Guardian Angel Foundation.
